Weird juxtapositions

December 12, 2005

So, today at church one of the young men (the acting chorister) decided to get a bit cheeky and picked “God Save The King” to sing in our Priesthood opening exercises.

I had completely forgotten that the song “My Country ‘Tis Of Thee” is built on the melody of “God Save The King”. And, since it is in the hymn book, it is perfectly appropriate but it was still a bit… weird.

Fun though.

what would be more cheeky would be if he chose to do that song on or around July 4th.

  2. Oooo! I hadn’t thought about that. I think I’ll have to suggest it…
